Coaching & Chat
How do I start a conversation with a coach?
Simply tap the chat icon or "Talk to Coach" button. You can start typing immediately—no setup required. Your coach will respond based on your personal context from journaling and tracking.
Can coaches see all my journal entries?
Coaches see relevant excerpts from recent entries (typically the last 30 days) that are semantically related to what you're discussing. They don't have access to your entire history, and you can delete entries to remove them from context.
How do I switch between different coaches?
Tap the coach icon in the chat header to see available coaches. Each coach has a different personality and specialty. You can switch coaches at any time without losing your conversation history.
Why don't coaches always remember past conversations?
AI coaches have a context window limit. They can see recent conversations and relevant journal context, but may not recall very old discussions. Journaling helps build persistent context that coaches can reference.
Journaling
How often should I journal?
There's no "right" frequency. Some people journal daily, others weekly. The key is consistency. Even brief entries help build context that makes coaching more personalized. Start with what feels natural.
What should I write about?
Write about anything on your mind—daily reflections, goals, challenges, wins, or thoughts. The more you share, the better your coaches can understand your context. Don't worry about grammar or length.
Can I edit or delete journal entries?
Yes! You can edit any entry by opening it and clicking "Edit." To delete, open the entry and select "Delete." Deleted entries are removed from your history and AI context within 24 hours.
Are my journal entries private?
Your entries are encrypted and private. Only you can see them. AI coaches access relevant excerpts to provide personalized guidance, but your data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
Tracking
What can I track in Mentoré?
You can track mood, sleep quality and duration, water intake, exercise, food, alcohol, and custom metrics you define. Tracking helps coaches spot patterns and provide more relevant insights.
How do I add custom tracking fields?
Go to Settings > Custom Tracking to create custom fields. You can track numbers, scales (1-10), boolean (yes/no), text, or duration values. Custom fields appear on your daily tracking page.
Can coaches see my tracking data?
Yes, coaches can see your recent tracking data to provide context-aware guidance. For example, if you've been sleeping poorly, a coach might ask about it or factor it into their suggestions.
How do I see patterns in my tracking?
Visit the Insights page to see visualizations of your tracking data over time. You can also ask a coach questions like "How's my sleep been this week?" or "Show me my mood patterns."
Account & Settings
How do I change my email or password?
Go to Settings > Account to update your email address or password. You'll receive a confirmation email when changing your email address.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings > Account and click "Export Data." You'll receive a download link with all your journal entries, tracking data, and conversation history in JSON format.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Account and select "Delete Account." This permanently removes all your data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Can I use Mentoré on multiple devices?
Yes! Your account syncs across all devices. Simply log in on any device with the same email address to access your journals, tracking, and conversations.
Billing & Subscription
What's included in the free plan?
The free plan includes unlimited journaling, basic tracking, and limited AI coaching conversations. You can try core features before upgrading to Pro for unlimited access.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Settings > Usage to see your current plan and upgrade options. Pro includes unlimited AI coaching, advanced insights, custom tracking, and latest models.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime from Settings > Usage. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer refunds on annual plans within 14 days of purchase. Monthly plans are not refundable, but you can cancel anytime. Contact info@mentore-ai.com for refund requests.
Privacy & Security
Is my data encrypted?
Yes, all data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Your journal entries and conversations are protected with industry-standard encryption.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. We have strict agreements with AI providers that prohibit using your data for training. Your conversations remain private and are never used to improve public AI models.
Who can see my data?
Only you can see your data. Our team has limited access for support purposes only, and all access is logged and audited. We never share your data with advertisers.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored in secure, SOC 2 compliant data centers. We use Supabase (PostgreSQL) for database storage with encryption and regular backups.
